Female Archetype Test
Find the archetype that leads you and the shadow that takes over under pressure. Then see which feminine archetype it echoes: Maiden, Mother, Queen, Huntress, Sage, Mystic or Lover.
A female archetype test asks which pattern drives a woman: care, rule, freedom, wisdom, intuition or love. Ours is the main Archemap test. It places you among twelve archetypes, names the shadow that takes over under stress, and shows which of the seven modern feminine archetypes your leading archetype echoes.
What this test measures, and what it does not
The questions are the same for everyone, and women land on every one of the twelve archetypes. The test does not score the seven feminine archetypes, Bolen’s goddesses or Toni Wolff’s four forms. No validated test of any of those models exists; online quizzes about them use their authors’ own scoring and work as mirrors, not measurements.
What we can say honestly: several of our twelve archetypes echo the feminine figures, so knowing your result makes your feminine archetypes easier to name.
What your result shows
Your leading archetype
The one of twelve that drives your choices most, with a match score from your answers.
Your shadow
The pattern that takes over when you are drained, cornered or not heard.
Its feminine echo
The table below shows which of the seven feminine archetypes sits closest to your leader.

The seven feminine archetypes and our twelve
Our synthesis, not a mapping any of the feminine-archetype authors drew up. Read it as “these figures rhyme”, not “these are the same thing”.
| Feminine archetype | Closest Archemap archetype | Our shadow | What they share |
|---|---|---|---|
| Maiden | The Innocent | The Imposter | Openness, trust, willingness to begin. |
| Mother | The Caregiver | The Martyr | Nourishing and protecting what grows, and giving until empty. |
| Queen | The Ruler | The Tyrant | Holding a realm with fairness, or with control. |
| Huntress | The Explorer | The Outcast | Freedom and her own aim. Some Huntresses lead with the Hero instead. |
| Sage | The Sage | The Cynic | Seeing clearly and telling the truth. |
| Mystic | The Magician | The Manipulator | Intuition and a sense of what lies beyond. Some Mystics lead with the Sage. |
| Lover | The Lover | The Obsessed | Desire, beauty and presence, and holding on too tight. |

Is there a separate archetype test for women?
Not here, and we think that is the honest choice. Archetypes are patterns, not genders: women lead with the Ruler and men with the Caregiver all the time. This page uses the same 42-question test as everyone else and helps women read the result next to the feminine archetypes.
What are the feminine archetypes?
The modern set most people mean is seven: Maiden, Mother, Queen, Huntress, Sage, Mystic and Lover. Older models include Jean Shinoda Bolen’s seven goddesses and Toni Wolff’s four forms. Our feminine archetypes guide compares all three.
Does this test tell me which feminine archetype I am?
Not directly. It measures twelve archetypes of our own model and shows which feminine archetype your leader echoes. It is a correspondence for reflection, not a score for the Maiden, the Queen or any other figure.
What is the 12 female archetypes quiz?
There is no single agreed list of twelve female archetypes. Quizzes that use the number usually mean the twelve general archetypes, the same set our test measures, applied to women. Ours names the one that leads and the shadow under it.
How long does it take and is it free?
42 questions, about 5 to 10 minutes. The core result, your leading archetype and your shadow, is free and needs no signup.
Is it scientific?
It is a self-reflection tool built on Jung and Carol Pearson’s twelve archetypes and developed by Archemap, not a clinical instrument. Treat the result as a well-made mirror. Our methodology page explains how the scoring works.
Archemap is a self-reflection tool built on Jungian ideas and later archetype research. It is not therapy, counselling or a clinical diagnosis.
Which archetype leads you?
Forty-two questions, about ten minutes, and a clear name for the pattern you live by and the one that takes over when it gets hard.
