How common is each leading archetype?
The leading archetype is the one of twelve that scored highest in a person’s answers. Share of all 1,743 completed tests.
How common is each shadow?
The stress shadow is the pattern a person falls into under pressure. In our model each archetype has its own shadow, so these shares closely follow the archetype shares above.

Methodology
- Source. Completed results of the free Archemap test (42 questions), counted since 8 July 2026, when the current scoring went live. Abandoned tests are not counted.
- Sample. Self-selected people who found the test online, mostly through search. They are not a random or representative sample of any population, so read every share as “among people who took our test”, not “among people”.
- Retakes. A person who completes the test twice counts twice. We do not link results to identities to remove repeats.
- Privacy. Only totals are published. A cell with fewer than 30 results shows no number, a group with fewer than 100 results is not shown at all, and the figures are recounted once a day, so no single result can be read off this page.
- What the test measures. Twelve archetypes and twelve shadows of the Archemap model, built on Jung and Carol Pearson’s twelve archetypes. It is a self-reflection tool, not a clinical instrument. How the scoring works is on our methodology page.
Questions about these numbers
What is the most common archetype?
In Archemap results the most common leading archetype is the Sage, at 15.7% of 1,743 completed tests. That is among people who chose to take an online archetype test, not the population as a whole.
What is the rarest archetype?
The rarest leading archetype in our results is the Jester, at 1.9%. Rare here means rare among our test-takers; it says nothing about how valuable the archetype is.
What is the most common hidden shadow?
The most common hidden shadow is the Anarch, at 20.9% of the results that have one. The hidden shadow is the part a person tends to see in others before seeing it in themselves.
Are these numbers representative?
No. They come from people who found and finished our test online, so they describe that group only. They are useful for comparing archetypes with each other inside one consistent test, not for statements about everyone.
